Recognizing the need for better in-building radio communications in police headquarters, fire departments, and all buildings where two-way public safety radios are used, SureCall has introduced the Guardian3™, bidirectional amplifier (BDA) that strengthens signal strength across the public safety and SMR (specialized mobile radio service) frequency bands used by first responders.

The Guardian3™, with an expected MSRP of $3,980, is available now. “Two way radio communications inside buildings are subject to many obstructions and the signal strength can be weakened by building material and topography, similar to cellular signals,” said Hongtao Zhan, CEO, Chief Engineer and Inventor at SureCall. “The Guardian3™ helps deliver a reliable and robust signal quality for the public safety officials relying on two-way communications.”

The Guardian3™ serves radios operating on both the 700 MHz and 800 MHz frequency bands, as well as the 900 MHz SMR band. It delivers up to 80 dB of signal gain, enough power to give up to 80,000 sq. ft. of improved coverage. Multiple boosters can be used to cover larger areas. The unit’s compartmentalized design increases clarity and reduces noise.

The Guardian3™ also features an embedded CPU for each band for smarter technology and auto gain control (AGC). The unit operates with the lowest out-of-band emissions available, and its software is upgradable in the field to make updating convenient. The Guardian3™ also Incorporates energy-saving technology that allows the booster’s uplink circuitry to go dormant when not in use.
